COFFEESHOP Speak Easy
Coffeeshop Speak Easy was founded in 1982 and was originally located at Oudebrugsteeg 4 in The heart of the Red Light district.
In 2013, coffeeshop Speak Easy closed their doors due to the 1012 project of the Amsterdam government. The intention was to clean up The Red Light district by decreasing the number and shut down a number of coffeeshops.
After the closure of Speak Easy, the owners went searching for a new location in the city. After about a year they managed to find a new location and after a thorough renovation the new Speak Easy coffeeshop opened its doors in the Eerste Oosterparkstraat 47 in Amsterdam East in November 2014.
As you enter the shop the counter is on the left where you can check out the menu. After making a purchase you may enter into the smoking area provided you are over 21 years old. As you walk in there are seats on the right hand side with 4 tables and further to the left there is a booth with a TV on the wall. At the back is another small sitting area with a bar style area with 3 benches to the left and to the right the toilets.
